Pacific Tug Group successfully completes a complicated wreck removal in the heart of the Whitsundays
Pacific Tug Group have successfully completed a complicated wreck removal in the heart of the Whitsundays. The 82’ Sunseeker caught fire and sunk in the Hamilton Island Marina and Pacific Tug were engaged to provide a “zero environmental harm” method of removal. The casualty was removed along with its pumpable contents in the week long operation. The casualty was re-floated and loaded onto the PT. Camel (semi-submersible barge) before being delivered back to Pacific Marine Base Brisbane for disposal.
A big thank you to the Hamilton Island community for your patience and to the Hamilton Island Marina management and staff for your support and assistance. Another job well done by our Pacific Tug crew, Subsea Works dive team, Ian Perrott and all those involved.
