Who we are?

Pacific Marine Base, Bundaberg (PMB) is located within the area zoned as Strategic Port Land at the Port of Bundaberg. Following more than 2 years of market research, feasibility investigations and negotiation with the Queensland Government, PMB entered a 50-year lease at the Port of Bundaberg.

PMB is a Pacific Tug Group company.  The site at Bundaberg has been identified as a strategically important location for the future of the region.

The PMB area at the Port of Bundaberg includes:

  • 12 acres (50,000 m2) of land
  • 4 acres (15,000 m2) of water
  • 180 metres of shorefront
  • 7 meters depth at low tide

What we do?

PMB will commence a construction phase in 2018 to transform the current greenfield site into a Marine Industry Precinct that will support the operations of world-leading maritime industry service providers.

PMB will be an integrated, sustainable business supporting multi-user engagement across a number of enterprises including:

Cargo barging

On-site, multi-user engineering services

Ship repair and maintenance

Defence maritime engineering and maintenance support

Commercial vessel mooring and provisioning.

Why Choose Us?

Perfectly located

  • The Port of Bundaberg is Australia’s most northern port that is outside the tropical cyclone zone. This means it is a lower risk area to live, operate and invest and still enjoys the advantages of a north Australian location.

  • It is the most northern port, which is outside the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This means that the site is not subject to the commercial constraints associated with operating within the marine park zone.

  • It is within 1000 nautical miles of the Pacific Islands and Asia trade zones. This provides a competitive advantage for trade with the region.

  • PMB is adjacent to the State Development Area declared in 2017. This is a designated zone for commercial development, providing leverage business growth.

  • PMB is opposite the nominated area for the proposed Bundaberg Defence Support Base.
