Who we are?

  • Pacific Marine Base, Bundaberg (PMBB) is located within the Port of Bundaberg Queensland. PMBB is fully invested in delivering a world class facility to enable the import and export of sea freight. This strategic project enormously benefits what the Bluewater Highway can deliver to South East Queensland.
  • Pacific Marine Base is focused on over size and over mass cargo being delivered by coastal barges and coastal shipping.
  • The developed site will offer customers direct access to a purpose-built breakbulk wharf and Ro-Ro access for large and high load items.
  • Laydown area will initially be 40,000m2 and is expandable to suit any project needs

Key Advantage

  • PMBB will be Bundaberg Port’s largest Ro-Ro facility and highest capacity wharf offering vessels access to the South East Queensland Hub of agriculture, manufacturing and industry.
  • PMBB is perfectly located south of the Cyclone Zone and Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
  • PMBB is equally distant from a number of the South Pacific Island nations. This connection provides excellent freight routes and emergency response capacity.
  • The Port of Bundaberg offers vessels quick access with short sail times to wharf and minimal congestion

Why Choose Us?

Perfectly located

  • The Port of Bundaberg is Australia’s most northern port that is outside the tropical cyclone zone. This means it is a lower risk area to live, operate and invest and still enjoys the advantages of a north Australian location.

  • It is the most northern port, which is outside the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This means that the site is not subject to the commercial constraints associated with operating within the marine park zone.

  • It is within 1000 nautical miles of the Pacific Islands and Asia trade zones. This provides a competitive advantage for trade with the region.

  • PMB is adjacent to the State Development Area declared in 2017. This is a designated zone for commercial development, providing leverage business growth.

  • PMB is opposite the nominated area for the proposed Bundaberg Defence Support Base.
